Ressourcen, Rechte und Capabilities: Auf der Suche nach den sozialen Grundlagen Europas. Resources, Rights and Capabilities: In Search of Social Foundations for Europe (CAPRIGHT)

Translated title Resources, rights and capabilities: in search of social foundations for Europe (CAPRIGHT)
Description CAPRIGHT analyses “the relations between the labour market, employment and welfare regimes” in terms of the promotion of individual and collective capabilities (according to Amartya Sen) based on a fair and efficient use of rights to monetary and institutional resources for individuals (sustaining wages and welfare). The interdisciplinary research on these dimensions focuses on gender equality, career development and work restructuring. It will contribute to the creation, on several levels, of public spaces within which processes of deliberative social democracy can address these issues with regard to the building of Europe. CAPRIGHT combines quantitative analyses based on existing data bases (econometric research, longitudinal studies, etc.) with qualitative approaches (case studies on institutional settings, analyses of individual (career) biographies, etc.) as well as historically oriented research about path-dependent developments of institutional frameworks. Coordinated by CNRS/ Nancy University in France, CAPRIGHT is an Integrated Project funded within the European Commission's 6th framework programme, with partner institutes in 15 countries (including three in Eastern Europe and two in Latin America).
