Mapping study on trade union practices in fighting discrimination and promoting diversity

Duration: 01/2009 - 09/2009
Status: completed
Key project staff: Bettina Haidinger
Funded by: European Commission, DG Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities
Cooperation: Working Lives Research Institute London (WLRI)

The project consists of a pan-Europe (35-country) mapping exercise of what is happening in the area of trade union responses to discrimination. In each of five areas of discrimination in which the EU has acted – racial or ethnic origin, religion or belief, age, disability or sexual orientation – the ways in which the unions in each country have been attempting to combat discrimination will be subject of the research. FORBA will carry out the Austrian part of the mapping study.
