The European Observatory of Working Life (EurWORK) was established in March 2014 and replaces the formerly distinct observatories for industrial relations (EIRO) and working conditions (EWCO) of the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (Eurofound). The observatory’s field of observation features on the employment relationship and conditions of work, including the regulation of the employment relationship, encompassing institutions and processes at different levels (legislation, negotiation, workplace practice), and the study of the working environment and working conditions/sustainable work. It provides up to date research and comparative information on these topics in all 27 EU member countries and Norway. As national corresponding centre, FORBA reports (in a consortium with the Institute for Sociology, University of Vienna) on working life developments in Austria.
